Review/cap
So, I started this show on Monday thanks to the lovely Netflix, which started off 2015 with a major spillage of new k-dramas (although I did watch a good portion on Viki beforehand)! In this review/recap, I'll just be skimming along, as there's no need for me to recap every single detail when there's already an amazing one over at dramabeans!
I was a little confused at first about the other boy that came to little Si On's rescue, but then I realized that boy was his hyung! And what a hyung! He showed those little mini-gangster twerps what's what and kicked ass—okay, not really—to defend his dongsaeng! Can we just take a moment to appreciate how awesome he was?
I'm sorry, but am I the only one who's just a sucker for the protective older brother in these dramas? Maybe it's because I've got two of my own...

Anyways, the scene goes on and we see that life at home isn't too nice for the two boys. There's a pretty traumatizing scene with Si On in his mother's arms as they cower in fear from the abusive father. I must warn, this is a not a scene for people who may be triggered by that kind of stuff.
What pissed me off was how little this guy cared for his child. Like, what's your damage? Do you need a hug?
Shhhh, I had to.
Later on, little Si On and little Hyung meet back up with the aforementioned mini-gangster twerps and get dared to go inside of a mine. The adolescent, pre-pubescent kids that they are, they take it as a good idea to go ahead and do that.
Big mistake.
Push comes to shove and the brothers find themselves buried in dirt and dust after the mine begins to shake and fall apart.
The naive fangirl in me wanted them both to be saved so bad (literally whispered, "Come on, he's gonna wake up") meanwhile the realist in me knows: Hyung is a goner.
This really made me sad because he was such a good older brother, and he'll never get to see that yes, Si On did grow to become the genius doctor he always thought he would.
After that, we are introduced to a nice lady doctor Cha Yoon Seo, who is telling a chilling story to kids in the hospital. Honestly, I'm not sure how I feel about her. I thought her story was cute, but the later scenes when she's drunk? Not too appealing to me..
Here's a few other people we met:
Kim Do Han—angry doctor who was taking a look at a little boy's memorial. My theory? We don't know much about him yet, but I'm guessing is connected to our main guy Si On.
Doctor Amazing—oops, um, *cough* I mean Doctor Choi! He's basically our Si On's father figure, and very caring guardian angel. He believes in little ol' Si On and honestly? I love this guy!
Very good representation of their relationship, honestly.
Doctor Pomade, otherwise known as Doctor Coffee. (Heh, that's joke. You'd get it if you saw the episode. Hoy, hoy.)
So, yeah. That's my review/cap (review/recap).
All in all, I paid attention! It was a little bit boring for me, honestly, but the end did have me laughing!
The acting was alright enough and so far Joo Won is doing a great job as Si On... I'm curious to see how this one's gonna unfold. I've got good expectations.
Thanks for reading! Sorry this was a little all over the place as it's my first one and I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing here haha. Let me know how you felt about Good Doctor in the comments!
